People often ask me why I started a fashion label in my forties. The answer is actually quite simple. I wasn't just creating clothing, I was creating a new chapter of my life.
There comes a time when you realise that life doesn't always unfold the way you imagined. Sometimes you have to begin again, rediscover who you are, and find the courage to build something that truly reflects your values, creativity, and purpose. For me, that journey became a.nty story, an Australian slow fashion label built on storytelling, artistry, and the belief that fashion has the power to inspire confidence and connection.
My journey through fashion, from studying at Istituto Marangoni in Milan to working across the fashion industry for more than twenty years, has always brought me back to the same belief, fashion should tell a story. Clothing is more than something we wear. It can express identity, preserve memories, celebrate culture, and communicate who we are without saying a single word.
One of the things that makes a.nty story different is that every print begins with an original fashion illustration. Before there is a garment, there is always a blank sheet of paper, a pencil, imagination, and a story waiting to be told. Every collection starts as artwork before it is transformed into wearable design. This creative process allows each piece to carry meaning, making every garment a reflection of art, individuality, and personal expression.
Rather than following fast-moving trends, I choose to create timeless fashion inspired by women, art, culture, travel, and the stories that shape our lives. Each collection is thoughtfully designed to celebrate resilience, creativity, and authenticity, encouraging women to embrace who they are and wear their story with confidence.
Starting a business in your forties can feel intimidating. There are moments filled with uncertainty, moments when you question whether you've missed your opportunity or whether it's simply too late.
